Product Description

This doleful piece, originally written for guitar, has been arranged for the intermediate string quartet. It is in the original key of A minor and features swift tempo and time signature changes, a prominent viola part in the beginning, and pleasing textures with a mix of arco, pizz, and call and response sections. Juan Alais (1844 - 1914) was an Argentine musician of British descent. He is known as the pioneer of concert guitar. This is an excellent choice for those looking to work out foundational skills of ensemble playing, and allows you to expand your repertoire with a Latin genre.
