Product Description

Praise and Swing is in a Gospel Jazz style. It should have a heavy feel on beats two and four and the eight notes are in a swing style. The tambourine and hand-clap parts are not essential but will add a great deal to the gospel flavor. The song is based on "Show Me the Way To Go Home," chord changes and will serve as a basis for the young improviser. Chord changes are printed in all parts at the improvisation section and additional written-out solo parts for violin, viola, and cello, are listed on separate pages for students to duplicate and take-home for practice. As in all jazz string ensemble selections, there should be one solo bass at the improvisation section who may perform the written bass line or work off the chord changes.
