Richard Wagner's Siegfried's Rheinfahrt (Rhine Journey) is an orchestral interlude before Act 1 from the opera "Götterdämmerung" (Twilight of the Gods), which has become also part of the repertoire of orchestral concerts. Wagner finished the score of "Götterdämmerung" on 21 November 1874. The opera premiered on 17 August 1876 in Bayreuth. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer on 17 May 2014 at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Austria.
