Product Description

Composed by Christopher Tin, Baba Yetu was written for the 2005 video game Civilization IV.  Upon its release, it had the distinction of being the first piece of video game music to be nominated for and win a Grammy Award.

The title of the piece comes from the Swahili for Our Father, and the lyrics are a translation of the Lords Prayer.

Since its composition, Baba Yetu has become an established part of the contemporary choral repertoire and has been arranged for various instrumental ensembles.  This arrangement for brass band is inspired by the recording that appears on Tins debut album, Calling All Dawns, featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
