"Baba Yetu" was originally written for a large choir with full orchestral accompaniment. This arrangement is designed to facilitate performance by much smaller groups of musicians. The lead sheet includes all the text and vocal melodies (and SSA/SAT harmonies, where applicable). Instrumental nuances are left to the performers to improvise or play by ear. Since I have included chord symbols above the staff, I have omitted dynamic markings for visual clarity.
The recommended minimum instrumentation is one or more vocalists, piano, and percussion (either a djembe or a pair of congas). To this you could easily add guitars (acoustic, electric, or bass), auxiliary percussion (shaker, etc.), or anything else that can play from a lead sheet.
