A few words about my arrangements and compositions:
1. The "Open String Symphony" series are collections of pieces that I wrote or arranged to use for teaching violin in classes. That is what I have been doing for the last ten years - teaching in school programs with groups of up to seven or eight primary school students. I believe the most important thing you must teach in these programs is listening: listening to each other and listening to yourself. Therefore, all the pieces I teach are duets, trios, or quartets, pieces that force children to listen to each other.
2. Arrangements that I wrote for my performing string quartet, and then rearranged for other ensembles as well. We are an international group - Israeli, American, British-Welsh and South African - so there are a lot of Jewish, Israeli, American and Welsh folksongs. I have rearranged many of these for other ensembles.
