Terry Wilson, born in Knoxville, Tennessee is the recently retired Director of Music at First United Methodist Church, Maryville, Tennessee (40 yrs).
Terry accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in junior high school. His home church and pastor, Rev. Kenreth Holt, introduced him to a loving God.

It was in high school that Terry accepted the call to full time music ministry. He graduated from Carson Newman University (BM), and Southern Baptist Seminary (MCM). His continuing education was in private studies with Professor Donald Neuen at UCLA.
While at Carson Newman he met his loving and supportive wife Brooke and they have one daughter, Lindsey.
In 1981, the Wilsons accepted the call to serve at First United Methodist Church, Maryville, Tennessee. God blessed this ministry as he remained Director of Music until 2021. He was blessed to serve with the most wonderful, and committed ministers and musicians.
In 2017, Terry received a successful kidney transplant at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. His donor is a church member. Her life-saving gift enabled him to continue serving God through the art of composition. His amazing team of doctors and nurses are angels from heaven.
Professor James Pethel, the Distinguished Composer-in-Residence and Associate Professor of Music at CNU, encouraged and instructed him in the art of composition. The result of these studies led to his first published composition for children, "As A Child I Give Thanks."
