This famous, sad ballad by Metallica was written by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. The song was inspired by a phone call of the lead singer with his girlfriend. Afterwards, the band decided to dedicate this song to their fans.

This extensive arrangement was inspired by the version of Metallica and the symphonic version. The choir sings also some of the instrumental parts, like the moving guitar intro and a great interlude by the strings.
