Product Description
FUNNY FACE PARADE is piano solo for a early-level beginning pianist. It is a spirited and jazzy march in a minor key, with a darkly playful tone. It is suitable for recital, performance, instructional use, or simply personal enjoyment.
This piano solo is excerpted from a larger score composed for a production of the French Surrealist play "Exit the King", by Eugene Ionesco. Produced by Duke University Theater Dept., it first premiered in 2009. Music for this production was inspired by New Orleans Jazz funeral bands which are celebratory in the face of sadness or pain. Original Instrumentation: accordion, cello, percussion and horns.
It is a wonderful experience for beginning pianists to work on music of all styles, including incidental music written for theater. The imaginative quality of these pieces can unlock their imaginations!
