Product Description
This classic afro-cuban chart from 1947 was a musical collaboration between Dizzy Gillespie, Gill Fuller and latin percussionist Chano Pozo.
This version, has been skilfully arranged for jazz saxophone quartet. It was originally scored for two alto saxophones, tenor and baritone but there is also a soprano saxophone substitute for alto 1 part, to allow the chart to be performed on the standard quartet line-up
Good time is key to getting this arrangement to groove and the dynamic markings and articulations are also massively important in bringing this music off the page. There is space for a roaring alto or soprano solo (which could be opened up if the soloist wishes to extend it) and a solo break for the baritone saxophonist.
Difficulty Rating : Advanced Plus
