Seraphina Sextet tells the tale of a frisky feline, from playful youth to the tragic accident that took her life. Although she met a sad demise, the music ends with a note of peace and joy as Seraphina begins the next stage of her journey.

Seraphina Sextet was premiered on Nov. 22, 2020 by the Victoria High Notes Flute Choir, on their virtual performance "Canada Music Week Flute Spectacular."

Brad Howland retired as Principal Trombone of the Victoria Symphony Orchestra 2024, a position he held for 35 years. He took up composition in the summer of 2020.
