Consisting of 3 movements Allegro-Andante-Allegro the work contains elements of Scottish folk music mainly in the organ figurations of the 1st and in the melody of the lyrical 2nd mvmt. The 3rd mvmt in 7/8 metre alters between the main theme and a 2nd, hymn-like theme in 4/4 metre. Trumpet part in C and Bb is included. The youtube recording here is the version for 2 trumpets.
