Product Description
Petofi's poems to music. At the age of 26 Petofi was killed in battle during the Hungarian Revolution. Franz Liszt composed the Petofi Elegy as a tribute to his friend.
Although it begins in a slow minor key, it is majestic and defiant, never a sad funeral march. Then it goes to the parallel tonic major key for a theme of emotional beauty, before ending with a grandiose finale of triumph.
I have simplified the often thick harmony to 2 part writing without losing the essence of the piece. I have added many more markings of dynamics, articulations, phrasing, tempos, etc. Every single measure has an extra marking to observe making it a very expressive piece.
This dramatic piece will show your maturity of performance technique.
