An engaging, lyrical work for flute quartet, In the Shadow of Thine Wings is a musical reflection on Psalm 17. The title of the work is derived from the Psalms eighth verse: Keep me as the apple of the eye, Hide me in the shadow of Thy wings,... I found these verses to be both comforting and inspirational. A unifying musical feature of the work are a series undulating ostinatos meant to depict a gentle flapping of wings. The work was completed in February of this year.
