Product Description
Playable using either B-flat or C trumpets, these two brilliant, short fanfares for two trumpets from 1921 by Manuel de Falla and Erik Satie exhibit two contrasting compositional approaches. The Falla Fanfare for a Festival is reminiscent of his dramatic opening trumpet and timpani fanfare to his Three-Cornered Hat and can be an exciting concert prelude featuring band or orchestra trumpeters and percussionists. Timpani parts are included for use with either C or B-flat trumpets. The subtly humorous Sonnerie by the eccentric, but influential French iconoclast, includes translation of Saties witty written commentary for the duet. Careful execution of the highly edited music will enliven the musical humor and performers will be amused with his score comments. Both fanfares have individual parts and a duo score. The recording is an actual trumpet performance of both fanfares.
