I decided to make a collection of my favorite Christmas memories as
a child and then as a parent. This is the first song in the collection.
It is for duet and piano (I have solo only available also). In every song, the refrain uses the same
lyrics but has a different melody. There are 4 songs in the collection.
It is about going to get our Christmas tree. We would go to the woods
and chop down a tree. Mom would always remind us to not get it too big,
but every year it was too big. cdboss@cvalley.net for any questions.
Christmas Memories
Song #1 The Christmas
Tree
Refrain:
Christmas memories
Mean so much to me
With my family
Throughout the years
Verse 1:
We bundle up nice and warm
Take a drive around the
farm
We drive until we see,
The most perfect Christmas
tree
Then we chop it down
And throw it in the truck
Soon we head back to town
But one time we got stuck
Refrain:
Verse 2:
And when we got it home
The tree was really tall
And it was way too big
To bring it down the hall
Well, momma said cut some
off,
So brother took a saw
He cut some off the top
Left no place for the star
Refrain:
Verse 3:
Its time to decorate
Our precious Christmas
tree
We strung the pretty
lights
For all of us to see
Next came the popcorn
chain
Put ornaments on the tree
Tossed icicles on each
branch
To see it glistening
Refrain:
Final Refrain:
Christmas memories
Mean so much to me
With my family
Brings happy tears.
