Cavafy's Dream (original version) is for contrabass saxophone solo and 2 electric bass guitars and was written for Daniel Kientzy. This parallel piece was written while I was working on 'Ithaca' for orchestra. It takes several elements from the orchestral piece and treats them as if they were part of a dream Constantin Cavafy might have had while writing his poem titled Ithaca. The work exists in four versions (original, 'A', 'B' & 'C'), all written for low pitched instruments. The duration is 3'50.
