Product Description

Mendelssohn wrote eight volumes containing six "Lieder" known collectively as Songs Without Words for the Piano. The idea of writing lyrical works for the instrument became popular in the Romantic era. Opus 85 is from volume 7 from the years 1834-1845 and the three from Opus 102 are from the final book 8 around 1842-1845.

1. The Return is dramatic, 2. Tarantella is a quick Italian style dance in triple meter, 3. Faith is romantic and flowing with emotion and 4. The Joyous Peasant is a lively perfect closer.

This suite is appropriate for advanced performers and Kim Ohlemeyer's arrangement is a joy to perform.
