Another Christmas piece this is based on a Norwegian Christmas song composed by the Danish Bishop Hans Adaolph Brorson, first published in 1732. This beutiful melody is arranged for String Orchestra and Solo Trumpet doubling on Piccolo Trumpet. I have tried to reflect the cold Christmas feeling in the strings and also to imitate the Norwegian folk instrument the Langeleik which is a droned Zither instrument.
