Product Description
"Hunters and Game" is book eight of a set of short folk song collections for trumpet and piano.
These collections are intended for several different educational purposes:
* Middle and high school students may select 2-4 pieces in a collection to perform at a solo and
ensemble festival.
* The pieces, which are presented in a variety of key and time signatures, may be used to
familiarize students with specific key and time signatures.
* The pieces may be used as transposition exercises for more advanced students.
* More advanced students may be challenged to develop and apply a musical ornamentation
scheme to these pieces, to be applied the second time through the repeated section (including
the first ending).
This collection, "Hunters and Game", is adapted from songs selected from "English Folk-Songs for Schools", a collection of folk songs co-authored by Sabine Baring Gould and Cecil J. Sharp and published in 1906, and "The Babys Opera", a collection of English folk songs edited by Lucy Crane.
"English Folk-Songs for Schools" is available for download and study at imslp.org. "The Babys Opera" is available for download and study at gutenberg.org.
All songs in this collection are taken from "English Folk-Songs for Schools" except "Ye Frog & Ye Crow", which is taken from "The Babys Opera".
Contains: "Ye Frog & Ye Crow", "Sweet Nightingale", "The Fox", "Hares on the Mountains", "The Cuckoo", "The Three Huntsmen", "Let Bucks A-Hunting Go".
