My friend Maestro says he actually learned this beautiful 18th century French carol in his middle school French class. Of course, that's about the only French he can speak today, which says a lot about the connection between music and memory! He Is Born, or as Maestro corrects me, "Il Est Ne," is set here as an intermediate flute solo with intermediate piano accompaniment. I've changed the meter from 4/4 to 3/4 to render a smooth waltz feel. It's a sweet-sounding piece that is perfect for Advent or Christmas prelude, offertory, or special music. Flute can be replaced with any C instrument. Key of F with no key changes, five pages of flute with accompaniment plus a one page flute part attached. Performance time is 2:33 minutes.
