Product Description

Bach's Arioso from his Cantata BWV 156 was an instrumental "sinfonia" featuring oboe on the beautiful melody. This arrangement gives the melody back and forth between the violas and the first violins, who join together toward the end in a powerful duet. The orchestral accompaniment, which is quite repetitive in the original, is given slightly more variety here. Intermediate groups, as well as more advanced groups, will enjoy playing the arrangement. There is a supportive piano accompaniment throughout.
