I recently found a work from a Danish composer that was a contemporary of Ewald. This was for 4 players, so I adapted it for tuba quartet. It sounds very reminiscent of the writing of Ewald and Maurer, so it has the potential to serve much as those do for the quintet rep. The work is 4 movements and lasts about 13 minutes with breaks between movements.
