Product Description

This piece was written for the Chicago Brass Band Players and later transcribed by the composer for brass sextet. The introduction has fanfare type figures combined with a lyrical line over an ostinato. The Aria is operatic with lyrical outer sections contrasting with a dramatic middle section. The dance uses rhythmic sections of 7/8 and 5/8 contrasting with sections of 4/4 that contained tight counterpoint. The tonal language is modal and tonal throughout.
