Product Description
"Für Elise" (or "For Elise") is one of the most
famous and most popular compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven. Not published
during his lifetime, it was discovered by Ludwig Nohl 40 years after his death,
finally published in 1867. The original autograph manuscript, which is
unfortunately now lost, had the title "For Elise on April 27 [1810] in
memory of L. v. Bthvn" ("Für Elise am 27 April [1810] zur Erinnerung
von L. v. Bthvn") The identity of "Elise" is unknown, although researchers
believe it could be Therese Malfatti von Rohrenbach zu Dezza, Elisabeth Röckel
or Elise Barensfeld.
This arrangement has alternative parts for SATB and AATB setups. A
recording of the original composition can be found here on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mVW8tgGY_w.
