Product Description
"Easy Christian Suite" is a collection of five easy trumpet trios
composed for beginning trumpet ensemble. The idea to write this music
came as a necessity due to the lack of interesting trumpet ensemble
music for beginners. The students who the music was written for were
first and second year trumpet players who had a good grasp of rhythms
and other musical aspects, but didnt have the range to go with it. The
titles of each movement are based on Christian themes. They are not
traditional Christian hymns, but original compositions inspired by the
hymns Eddie Lewis grew up with. The individual movements of the suite
are:
Joy, Joy, Joy
Peace
Blessings
Early to Rise
Honor and Glory
The movements are in four different keys: Bb, Eb, F, and Ab (concert
keys) and utilize four-four, three-four, and two-four time signatures.
Rhythmic values do include sixteenth notes, but in a simple and
accessible manner. The suite can be performed as a congruent work or
may be broken up into individual pieces.
