Composed in 1874, Camille Saint-Saen's waltz/tone poem "Danse Macabre" conjures images of skeletons rising from their graves to dance in moonlight! This spooky piece is ideal for the intermediate bassoonist, but it would also be ideal for other bass instruments in C too such as trombone and cello.
