Product Description
"God Bless America" is perhaps the most beloved patriotic song for Americans next to The Star Spangled Banner! It was written originally in 1918 by Russian immigrant Irving Berlin, as he served in the U.S. Army in New York. n 1938, Berlin revised the song as a song of peace, as the world was on the verge of World War 2. Kate Smith sang "God Bless America" on her television shows in the 1950's and it soon became her signature song. This arrangement for advanced intermediate piano includes the rarely used introduction (verse) and leads into the rousing chorus. Written in the key of G Major, it includes helpful fingering, voicing in the treble clef, 4/4 and cut time, and a great crescendo and tremolo at the end. All you need is a cannon and fireworks! Great for church preludes or specials, recitals, patriotic celebrations, and assisted living entertainment. Copyright 1938, 1939 Irving Berlin. All rights reserved, used by permission of Hal Leonard.
