Product Description

The Christmas Concerto is the popular title of one of the 12 Concerto Grossi written by Arcangelo Corelli. This Concerto in G minor bears the inscription, "Made for the Night of Christmas". Since the Concerti were first published after Corellis death in 1711 we have no way of knowing when it was first performed.

This arrangement is of the Allegro second movement and is scored for Clarinet Trio, two Bb Clarinets and one Bass Clarinet. The score and all parts are combined in one pdf file.

Musicians at an advanced intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The rhythms are straightforward, and sound best played fast. The constant movement of the bass part is challenging. All players will enjoy experiencing the rich texture of Corellis counterpoint. The overall performance time is around three minutes if played at full tempo. The linked YouTube performance is the similar version for Clarinet Quartet
