This instrumental trio (for FLUTE and/or VIOLIN with PIANO accompaniment) arrangement of the familiar hymn tune CRANHAM, long associated with the poem "In the Bleak Midwinter" by Christina Georgina Rossetti, is an ideal instrumental selection for the Christmas season. The FLUTE part plays the melody for the first verse and the VIOLIN part plays the melody for the second verse while the piano provides a flowing, delicate accompaniment throughout.

Though notated with FLUTE on part 1 and VIOLIN on part 2, the ranges are also accessible for other combinations of C instruments (2 violins, 2 flutes, etc.). The range for each part is as follows: FLUTE ~ A4 to A5; VIOLIN ~ E4 to A5. For the violin on either part, all notes are playable in the first position making this piece an excellent choice for early intermediate string players.
