Product Description

Mozart's 12 Duets, K. 487 (also known as K. 496a), are a set of musical compositions written in 1786 in Vienna. Originally composed for two horns, these duets have been adapted for various instrument combinations. The duets were composed while Mozart and his friend Ignace Leitgeb, a virtuoso French horn player, waited for their turn to bowl. This casual setting resulted in these charming and unpretentious pieces that have become popular among musicians.

The work consists of 12 individual duets:
Allegro
Menuett
Andante
Polonaise
Larghetto
Menuetto e Trio
Adagio
Allegro
Menuett & Trio
Allegro
Andante
Allegro

Recordings and performances of these duets are available, showcasing their versatility and enduring appeal. The duets are known for their simplicity and charm. They are often described as "easy duets," making them accessible to intermediate-level players. The pieces provide an excellent opportunity for musicians to practice ensemble playing and develop their interpretative skills.
