Product Description

"Va, pensiero" also known as the "Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves," iis a chorus from the opera Nabucco, which premiered in 1842. The opera tells the story of the Babylonian captivity of the Hebrews after the destruction of Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem. The chorus expresses the deep sorrow and yearning of the Hebrew slaves as they reflect on their lost homeland. The libretto, written by Temistocle Solera, draws inspiration from Psalm 137, which laments the exile of the Israelites in Babylon.
The orchestration is here faithful to the original 2*222, 4231 T Strings. but transposed down a semitone to the easier key of Fmajor.
Score and orchestra parts included but not the choral parts - any standard vocal score can be used
