This cycle of five dances for guitar solo is written in the style of Schubert. As he could have written it, if he had wished so. But actually, during my research of his music to understand his style better, I found a charming original Trio composed for guitar, hidden in his Zwanzig Menuette op.41 from 1813. It was my inspiration for the Trio in the fourth movement of this cycle.
