Product Description

The Wiener Philharmoniker Fanfare was written in 1924 for the Vienna Philharmonics first ball to benefit the orchestra pension fund. Performed as guests arrived at the ball, it was premiered on March 4, 1924, during the German holiday of Fasching (Carnival or Mardi Gras). It has since been performed every year at the Philharmonics annual balls.

The fanfare was originally orchestrated for six trumpets in E-flat, 8 horns in E-flat, six trombones, two tubas, and two sets of timpani. This arrangement is intended to update the piece for the modern wind ensemble brass section with one timpani player.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
