Product Description

A short Song Cycle with one composition for each season taking inspiration from the seasons and the words of William Shakespeare. The four pieces can be performed individually or sequentially starting on any season, although the composer has suggested: Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring. Most of the lyrics come from Shakespeare's famous play, 'As You Like It'. However, Summer features a setting of Sonnet 18 entitled, 'Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day?'.

The work is arranged for an SAB choir (with two alto parts) and has a piano accompaniment.Summer is to be performed unaccompanied.

This work was composed by Welsh composer, Tim Riley. Tim has been writing music for more than forty years and in his time has been composer in residence at Welsh National Opera and now specialises in writing educational music for use in schools and for performance by Community Choirs. Tim currently conducts the award-winning Insole Court Community Choir in Cardiff, UK. Tim's choral works are all extensively 'road tested' by this choir before publication.

If you have any questions or are looking for an arrangement for different voices, please feel free to contact Tim by email: timriley66@gmail.com
