On Grooved Road is an easy goiug rock groove that features a small soli ensemble of Trumpet, Alto, Tenor and Trombone stating the main theme before the rest of the band joins in for contrast. It has a multi-layered buildup to the big apex of the piece. Tenor Sax solo (but can be passed to anyone).The groove is deceptively simple, but is an excersise in smooth, laid-back sophistication. It's built on a sleek, mid-tempo rhythm that blends jazz, funk, and soft rock. Lead Trumpet up to C5. Intermediate level.
