Product Description

For 2 C-flutes, alto, and bass, length 3 minutes, 24 seconds. A worldwide favorite melody, now for the flute quartet! Originating in Scotland in 1782, this meldoy is traditionally performed at the end of a gathering of friends, and sometimes performed at memorials.
The arrangements begins in 4/4 time with the lower 3 voices droning on with staggered breathing, while the 1st flute carries the beautiful melody. Then the quartet moves into 3/4 time and a lilting tempo, with movement in all parts. The ending brings back sustained notes, and an ascending melody right to Heaven.
Be sure to listen to the mp3 ~ arranged for 4 woodwinds, but parts the same.
