Although originally by Labi Siffre (Something Inside So Stong) this song will always be by Madness for me, and will be one the tracks of my years!

I have written an a cappella version for SSAB choirs, which loosely follows the Madness version. It has the familiar piano riff (sung, in this case) running through much of it, which the men in my choir enjoyed, and the violin pizzicato and sax solos in the middle (both sung by Sop 1s.) It switches between swung and straight quavers, but is not something I would mention to the choir for fear of frightening or confusing them. Theyll pick up the feel of each section naturally as they learn it.

This piece is best suited to intermediate choirs, especially where there are 2/3 or 3/4 women to men.
