Product Description

To the Dreamland is the composition for wind orchestra about an imaginary story based around the protagonist who has a dream and strong ambition. The protagonist is out on a quest to pursue the dream, however the path is not easy. It is full of obstacles and challenges. Failure and defeat occurred, lamented, before the resilience to fight for the dream again once more, resulting in the triumphant victory into the dreamland.

The story and characters were depicted in different musical styles. (1) Dream Theme, appearing in the beginning of the piece, was presented through vague harmony and light musical texture. (2) The Protagonist Theme, appeared after the Dream Theme, was presented through the energetic and vivid melody, along with the upbeat accompaniment. (3) The Obstacle Theme, appeared in the middle of the piece, was presented through the dissonance harmony and syncopations, creating the sinister feeling.

I wish to dedicate this piece to those who fight for their dream and try their best to overcome the challenging obstacles. May your dream still shine bright.

Remarks: To the Dreamland calls for five percussionists. Should your ensemble have a lesser number, you could use the drumset part instead of the missing parts.
