Grandad's Story is a Christmas cantata for schools or children's choirs with organ accompaniment (piano version also available). Set in 50 AD, it features the fictional characters of Tim and his Grandad. Tim's Grandad was a shepherd boy at the time of Christ's birth, and Tim never tires of hearing his Grandad tell him about the miraculous events of that first Christmas. The cantata features 7 songs in different styles, from upbeat and jazzy to evocative and lyrical. There are plenty of opportunities for solos or small groups, or larger groups can be used if prefered. Many of the songs have optional second parts, but the cantata can be sung almost entirely in unison if required.
