Product Description
Here is a great event opener for you: if you are looking for something grand that isn't the usual suspects, look no further!
Originally for orchestra (2 horns, timpani and strings), this Menuet from Barsanti's Concerto Grosso Op. 3 No. 5 in D Major is grand enough to set the scene. In my quartet arrangement, the Cello has a 16 bar, timpani - style solo, calling the room to attention.
If no introduction is needed, you can also skip to where all 4 players join in, or leave out part of the intro: it works either way: it was added to aid the choreography of the dance, as described below.
As a few other of my arrangements, this started off as a commission for a Costume Ball, and, at the event, it was used for one of the display dances - the dancers started gathering during the timpani (cello) introduction and the dancing started where the rest of the quartet joins in, in bar 17.
Thank you for looking and I hope that you enjoy this arrangement of the Menuet from Barsanti's Concerto Grosso Op. 3 No. 5
