Product Description
Korean Folk Song Sandwich for Piano Trio
This piece is a piano trio arrangement of the last four movements of Kim Han-kis Violin Sonata No. 3, Korean Beauty, Op. 289. Sonata No. 3 is a piece composed based on Korean folk songs, nursery rhymes, and rhythms. The fourth movement is in the form of ABACADs Rondo, and between the A themes, three folk songs, Miryang Arirang, Cheonan Samgeori, and Parangsae, are cited, along with Korean traditional rhythms, Gutgeori, Jajinmori, and Semachi. Due to the structural characteristics of the overlapping use of themes, it was given the nickname Korean Folk Song Sandwich.
The attached sound file is just for reference only and was played with only violin and piano.
