"Das alte Jahr vergangen ist" ("The old year now hath passed away", BWV 288), a meditative and grateful chorale with a fascinating chromatic accompaniment that evokes a passed year full of challenges and troubles, all resolved in the end; here in an arrangement for four Violins, in which the phrasing follows the syllabation of the german lyrics, while dynamics are an interpretation of mine.
