Product Description

Wassail, in the traditional sense, is a winter-warmer beverage often drunk in the practice of wassailing - the act of going door-to-door and giving charitably during the English Yuletide season. This work, written for the Penfield Symphony Orchestra (Penfield, NY) features the English carols Here We Come a Wassailing, Good King Wenceslas, and Coventry Carol (among short hints of others) set in three antiphonal brass choirs. The melodies are passed around the distanced groups in an imagination of joy and warmth being spread around a small English village. The score and parts are grouped into three brass quartets that fit a standard orchestral brass section.
