THE VOICE OF SILENCE is a contemplative piece that was inspired by the words of the philosopher, Wittgenstein: About what one can not speak, one must remain silent. Music is often about putting into language what words cannot convey. This original piano work is based around an outer melody and a separate inner melody; two voices, one nestled inside another, not unlike how in life, we have our outward show but also our inner witness who mostly stays silent.

The work explores relevant key changes to keep the element of surprise but there is an overall flow that unites a melodic and rhapsodic journey. THE VOICE OF SILENCE contains an unspoken dialogue that is private to each one of us as creative artists. When you play this piece, you are invited to talk freely to your heart, and share with any audience that they too have something special to contemplate.

The total duration is approximately 5 minutes and is also suitable as part of a concert programme.
