Product Description

"Marche Slave" is an orchestral tone poem by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, published in 1876. It was written to celebrate Russia's intervention in the Serbo-Ottoman War. The familiar theme has been treated as a four-part fugue, expanded to an ABA & coda form. Audiences can listen for the original theme and its developments in harmony and melody throughout the work. This slow, lyrical selection integrates well into any wind quintet concert.
