Adapted from Kurt Elling's rendition on his album *Nightmoves*, Kerrys arrangement of "Norwegian Wood" is back in print after a too-long hiatus. The chart incorporates hip and unique syncopations with reharmonizations that give the Lennon/McCartney classic a fresh and engaging sound. It features a persistent underlying 16th-note subdivision that drives the rhythm and allows the melody to be reframed and stretched onto a brand-new canvas, creating space for interesting colors in the rhythm section and vocal backgrounds.

Elling's signature melismatic melody flourishes are transcribed and seamlessly integrated into this arrangement, offering a nod to his style while adding unique texture and depth. Space for vocal or instrumental improvisation is included, encouraging creativity and spontaneity in performance. A modulation after the solo section introduces a new emotional backdrop for the final lyrical moments, enhancing the song's storytelling aspect.

The arrangement uses diverse voicings, blending clusters and more widely spaced harmonies to create a rich, textured sound. It builds to an exciting peak toward the end before winding down to a soft and mysterious finish, capturing the intrigue and emotion of the original while exploring new musical territories. This chart will provide a distinctive and memorable addition to any ensemble's repertoire.
