This groovy little funk tune was originally part of the soundtrack to a cute educational 18-minute video on YouTube called Dimensions Unfurled, available here, at 10:30-12:45:

In the documentary video made to educate children on dimensions, the two characters explore the unique aspects of a fourth-dimensional cuboid object, or a hypercube. The underlying music for trumpet alone adds excitement to the discovery process. The dialogue is quite informative, and the Claymation setting with musical underscore maintains the young watchers attention through the video.
The reason behind the title Jell-O Cubes is in reference to a later segment of the short documentary in which one character recommends that the pictured hypercube net be comprised of Jell-O cubes rather than water, to facilitate the juxtaposition of the somewhat solid cubes to animate the creation of a hypercube. The Jell-O substance, while retaining the shape of a solid, also illustrates the apparent impossibility that 3D cubes would have to occupy the same space at the same time in a fourth-dimensional hypercube. Funky, indeed!
The brass quintet expansion of the solo trumpet soundtrack provides entertaining variety to any brass quintet concert. Add the funky drum set for a perfect presentation. The short 230 duration breaks up any musical menu nicely, like a sip of wine during a cheese party; or, perhaps more apropos, a taste of Jell-O.
