Originally written for piano and string orchestra in memory of my brother Steve, and performed in Tauranga NZ in March 2023, I have re-scored Be Still for piano quintet (piano with string quartet). This quintet version was premiered by the composer in July 2024. The music starts with the piano, with the viola leading the strings in after eight bars. The music is gentle, peaceful and tranquil and suited to any occasion where peacefulness and serenity are required. Some bowing markings have been included as a guide.
