This communion anthem is structured as an arrangement of Reginald Heber's text, "Bread of the World in Mercy Broken," set to the Genevan Psalm tune RENDEZ A DIEU by Louis Bourgeois, 16th c. An original counter melody is used for the additional text of George Herbert's poem, The Call ("Come my Way, my Truth, my Life..."). These two motifs are woven together to create a beautiful choral invitation to holy communion.
